Letter from Pastor Dave Edmunds
We have received the following letter of invitation from Pastor Dave Edmunds of the Belle Valley Presbyterian Church:
March, 2024
Dear Friends in Christ,
In hopes of deepening Christian friendship, we would like to invite the men and youth of your congregation to join us for a Good Friday Men’s Communion Breakfast on March 29, 2024, at 6:30 a.m. Please join us for this opportunity for genuine Christian friendship, fellowship, and worship, as we mark this year’s Holiest of weekends in the Christian faith! The information regarding this event is contained in the following flyer:

March, 2024
The March Prayer Focus is taken directly from the sermon given by Dean Wilson on February 18, 2024.
“During the Season of Lent, we are given the opportunity to focus our daily attention on the examination of our personal spiritual condition. Such an examination will properly lead us to a comparison of where we are in our walk with God, and where we should be, as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Once we engage in this examination and comparison, we will very likely find ourselves seeking repentance for our failings as sin-bent human beings. And such repentance will then lead us to a consecration of our lives to devote ourselves to becoming more and more like Jesus.”
Topics to pray about:
- Your personal spiritual condition. Do I show the love of Jesus Christ to others around me? Am I committed to attending Worship services once a week? Do I have a daily devotional time to read the Bible and pray? Are my prayers routine, or do I pray from the heart with sincerity and passion? Did I neglect a friend or neighbor, who needed my help, because it was not convenient or the right time for me?
- More than likely, you know what you should be doing. How does your examination measure up to what you know you should be doing?
- Repentance means to admit you are wrong and ask forgiveness, but it is just as important to turn and go in the proper direction, following the examples shown by Jesus.
- With a contrite heart and renewed dedication, pray for strength and commit to doing whatever your heart has shown you that you need to do.

As a Church, How are We Doing?
At the Meeting of Session on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the Ruling Elders adopted 2024 Goals and Enabling Objectives for the Congregation of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. You may review these Goals and Objectives by clicking here.
As the people of Redeemer move forward, serving as abassadors for Christ and His Kingdom to a needy world, we must strive for continuous improvement. These Goals and Enabling Objectives give us some markers by which we can evaluate our forward movement. As Session continues to discuss and work with these Goals and Objectives for 2024, they will share additional strategies to implement them.
Therefore, we urge each of you to very prayerfully and thoughtfully review the Goals and Enabling Objectives for 2024 and consider how you will help your brothers and sisters at Redeemer facilitate the the realization of these Goals and Objectives.

Update from Sam Van Eman
We have received the following update from our dear friend, Sam Van Eman, who ministers with the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO). Redeemer is honored to support Sam’s ministry.
Dear Redeemer friends,
A CCO colleague and I are taking 10 college students on a Spring Break service learning trip to Chicago and several other locations along the way. It will be a mix of students, including Evangelical Christians, several Catholics, one Hindu, and one Muslim. Six of these students spent last year’s Spring Break with me, and it was one of the highlight weeks of our year (mine and theirs!). So much so that they wanted to return. At our trip briefing last month, the returners said, “We don’t care where you’re taking us or what we’re going to do. We’re in.”
They all know I am a follower of Jesus and they feel safe to explore and ask questions. Our theme is, “You Are What You Eat,” with a heavy focus on the food we eat, where it comes from, whether it has roots in injustice (e.g. ultra-processed), etc. What does it mean to honor the body God gave us? How can we care for our neighbors who live in “food deserts” where the most affordable calories fail to nourish them sustainably? And are there ways we can eat, buy, and cultivate food in ways that point to Jesus? We don’t have answers to everything, just want ask good questions.
Of course, you can see that a theme like “You Are What You Eat” connects with other parts of our lives. We consume social media, news, music, and so much more.
If it sounds like a lot, it is. We are hoping to overwhelm them the first few days before slowing down to sort it all out. Would you pray for us? For me to be humble, teachable, honest, and always—and I don’t mean this loosely—pointing to the Bread of Life.
Thank you!
Sam

Prayer Requests
More and more, we want to become a praying church. Thus, we want to continually hold each other up in prayer.
We want to celebrate your joys. We want to rejoice with you concerning the answers you’ve received to your prayers. And, we want to know about your trials, sorrows, difficulties, and concerns so that we can earnestly and fervently pray with you and pray for you.
Please don’t wait until Sunday to share with us. We welcome your Prayer Requests all week long.
